Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Tranqua.
By using Tranqua you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English on purpose — please read them.
Read this first — medical disclaimer
Tranqua is a wellness app. It is not a medical device, not a substitute for therapy, not a diagnosis tool, and not a replacement for emergency care.
- If you are in crisis, call 911 (or your local emergency number).
- In the US, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7 by call or text.
- Text HOME to 741741 for the Crisis Text Line.
If you are managing a diagnosed mental-health condition, please continue working with your therapist, psychiatrist, or primary-care provider. Use Tranqua alongside that care, not instead of it.
1. Who can use Tranqua
You must be at least 16 years old to use Tranqua. By using the app, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to agree to these terms.
2. Your account
You sign in by entering your email and clicking the magic link we send. Keep that email account secure — anyone with access to your inbox can sign into your Tranqua account. Tell us at hello@tranqua.app immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Free vs. Premium
Free tier (always free): the panic button (unlimited voice-guided panic sessions), crisis resources (988, 741741, 911), the basic journal, and one free Foundations library session ("You Are Not Broken").
Tranqua Premium: the full mindset library (13 additional sessions), the full ambient music library (14 tracks), Quick Breathe + guided breathing tools, the Nourish foods & meals content, advanced patterns insights, and any new content we add.
Premium is offered at:
- Monthly — $5.99 USD per month, auto-renewing each month until cancelled.
- Yearly — $59.99 USD per year, auto-renewing each year until cancelled.
Prices may change in the future; if they do, we'll notify you at least 30 days in advance and the new price will apply only to the next renewal cycle.
4. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel any time from Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription, which opens the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep Premium access until then.
We do not offer pro-rata refunds for unused time. If you believe you were charged in error, email hello@tranqua.app and we'll work with you in good faith.
5. The trust contract
We will never put crisis resources, the panic button, or your basic journal behind a paywall. These remain free for every user, forever. If you're having a hard moment and your Premium subscription has lapsed, the help that matters most is still one tap away.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Tranqua to:
- Impersonate someone else or create accounts in another person's name without permission.
- Attempt to access another user's data, journal entries, or sessions.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to bypass the panic-session rate limits or paywalls.
- Use the app's content (audio, library sessions, music) outside of personal listening — no rebroadcast, redistribution, or repackaging.
7. Intellectual property
The Tranqua name, brand, app design, library audio sessions, voice recordings, and music selection are owned by Tranqua. You receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use them inside the app for as long as your account is active.
Your journal entries are yours. We claim no ownership over the content you write in the app.
8. Service availability
We aim for high uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may have to take the app offline occasionally for maintenance or upgrades. If extended downtime affects a Premium subscriber, we'll credit the affected days to the next billing cycle.
9. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We make no warranty that the app will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.
You understand that the audio content (panic-flow voice clips, library sessions, ambient music) is supplied for general wellness purposes only. It is not personalized therapy.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tranqua and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the app shall not exceed the greater of (a) $100 USD or (b) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations — in those places, this clause applies to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Termination
You can stop using Tranqua at any time. We can suspend or close your account if you materially violate these terms (for example, attempting to bypass the rate limit, scraping, or harassing other users). If we close your account, we'll let you know why and give you a chance to export your data first.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that materially affects your rights, we'll notify you in-app and by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [place of incorporation — fill this in before launch], without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located there.
